Harrison's Roast Beef is a north shore classic. It was packed for lunch when this review took place. They have great flair yelling between cashier and cook (a large sauce and mayo is a large S M) and on your way up to the counter you walk by a wall of accolades including a signed poster from the band Godsmack who claims "Thanks Harrison's, We couldn't live without you." Well Godsmack I think here we can agree.
Bun:
The Bun had great full onion flavor and was extremely (EXTREMELY) well grilled. The only thing keeping this bun from a perfect score was how thin it was. A little more fluff would of gone along way. Score: 4
Beef:
Thinly sliced and perfectly pink. I'm absolutely certain this beef would be delicious on it's own but the sauce was so strong that whatever flavor this beef had was lost. Score: 4
Sauce:
This sauce was absolutely the star of the show. It's hot and tangy, with a long cayenne pepper style burn. It's orange and you can see the pepper flecks in the sauce. Great build up of heat, actually the only down side was that it was too good and overshadowed most of the of the other flavors here. A perfect score. Score: 5
Overall:
A great sandwich. While presentation was a bit lacking (this sandwich was a little smushed) It was thoroughly enjoyable. I don't want them to dial back the sauce at all, Just play up the beef and bun. Score: 4
Bonus notes:
Harrison's has their own in house soda, a nice touch.
It was good enough to warrant this second photo.
